Stand Strong During Adversity

"Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground."

(Ephesians 6:13)

We all face challenges and difficult times. God doesn't send these storms, but it's in times of difficulty that we grow and become stronger. It is an opportunity to allow God's Word to come alive in our life and see us through to victory. We can't run from everything that's hard in our life and expect God to deliver us immediately. God uses these challenges to stretch us and enlarge our vision.

I know first hand about adversity and challenges. Right now, today my husband and I are facing a very big adversity. We have received the "worldly" report that my husband has cancer. Now we have a choice. We can accept and give in to this worldly report, or we can refuse it and trust and believe in the report of the Lord, which states, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5).

Who and what we put our faith in is our choice. God will not force anything on us and we need to understand that He doesn't always heal us "directly". He can also use the doctors and nurses to heal us, so we always need to pray that He give our medical caregivers His supernatural wisdom, knowledge and understanding, to do His will.....and it IS His will that we be healed. God is still in the miracle business just as much today and He was yesterday. Jesus is still a healing Jesus just as much today as He was yesterday. "Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, and forever (to the ages)" (Hebrews13:8).

Remain faithful during your times of adversity. Make up your mind to serve God no matter what comes against you, and God will honor you. Fight the good fight of faith. Remember, God will not waste anything you go through in life. You are growing. You are maturing. You are being prepared for the promotion. Simply remain faithful and fight life through. In due season, in God's appointed time, He will promote you to new levels of victory, and you'll live that abundant life that He has promised you!

I'm not saying this will always be easy. It isn't. We have to determine in our mind and heart to stay on the beaten path. Always asking and trusting God to bring it to our attention immediately, when we slip, and to immediately get ourselves turned around...back on the right path. We all slip, we all make mistakes, but we don't have to let those mistakes control the rest of our life. Get it under the blood and turn away from it, standing firm against it. God will see you through.

Stand strong in adversity!!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making me strong though adversity. I thank You that because You are faithful to me, I can be faithful to You. Give me Your wisdom to make the right decisions today and the strength to stand strong no matter what life brings.
