I have made this tutorial into three pages to save
on loading time.
With this tutorial, you can make your own printable
stationery to write to family and friends....and you will have
one-of-a-kind!!
This tutorial was written by me, and any
similarities to any other tutorial is strictly coincidental.
Please be patient with me on this tutorial. This is
the first tutorial that I have ever written and shared
online.
I have tried to write this tutorial so that even
beginners could follow it. If you have any problems please don't
hesitate to ask questions. I'll be glad to help you any
way I can.
Things you will need:
PSP; I'm using PSP
7, but should work fine with version 6.
A Pattern
Image. I used this one. You are welcome to use it if
you'd like.
Just right click on it and save it to your hard
drive. If you aren't sure how to do this, click here.
Texturizer:
If you don't have this plug-in, you can download it here Unzip it
and install the plug-in into your "Plug-ins" folder, within PSP. Do
this before you open PSP or it might not show up in your plug-ins
folder.
Tubes of your choice....one to three, or you can use
any number of tubes you want. You just don't want to make it too
cluttered-looking.
If you would like to use the same tube I did, you
can download it here . Unzip
it into your "Tubes" folder in PSP.
***Save your work in psp format, often. PSP
has been know to crash and anything you've done since you last saved
will be lost.***
Okay. Are you ready? Well, let's get
started!
First, open a new transparent image 612 x 792, by
clicking on the new image icon. It looks like this:
, and is in your top tool bar. A new window
will open. Change any settings that you need to, so that yours
looks like this:
Click on your "Selections Tool",
(It's in your left tool bar) using these
settings:
Place your cursor at coordinates 40,40 and pull out
to 570 wide and pull down to 760 for your height. Should look
like this:
Go to "Selections/Invert" (this is in your top tool
bar) . Now your image should look like this:
See how the marching ants are now all around the
outer edges as well as those that you drew?
Click on the arrow on your "textures" and choose
the pattern tool ...it's the one with all the little dots.
Wondering what you do from here?
Oooops. We have a problem, cause I don't know either.
Just kidding. :-)
Now click on the "open" folder in your top tool
bar. It looks like this:
This window will open:
At the top of this image, where it says "Look in",
click on the arrow, which I have circled in red. Click on the
"Local Disk C:". Your folders on your hard drive will open in
the window below.
Now click on the arrow that I have circled in
blue. Scroll to the folder in which you saved your pattern
tile in. Double click on that folder. The images within
that folder will now show in the window. Find the pattern you
want, double click on it, and it will open up into PSP.
Okay, once you have your pattern open in PSP, click
in the center of of your pattern icon. Remember,
it's the one with the little dots.
A window will open. Set your Scale % at
100 and Angle at 0. Click on the arrow that I have circled in
red, on the image below.
Another window will open to the right, showing all
your patterns. At the top you should see the pattern you chose
to use. I have mine circled in red. Click on your
pattern.
Be sure to save your work often.
