Have you ever heard someone say, "That touched my heartstrings"?
Whoever coined the phrase must have known something about music. In
some strange way, kind deeds and words of love tune the heart the way a
musician's hands tune an instrument to perfection.
Strings that have been stretched too taut grow brittle
with time, as the heart without kindness atrophies and becomes a heart of
stone. Strings that are never used grow dull and lifeless, as a
loveless life feels useless and meaningless. But the right tension of
love and kindness keeps the heart tuned at peak performance. Out of
that heart, music flows freely.
One of my husbands talents is song writing and playing
the guitar. When he writes a song just for me and plays his guitar
while singing that song to me, he touches my "heartstrings", more than he
will ever know.
When you take the time to say or do something with
loving, kind words or deeds, you may never know that you touched their
"heartstrings", but more likely than not, you have.
"Thank you" my family and friends for all the times you
have touched my "heartstrings". You will never know just how much you
mean to me and how much it meant to me that you cared enough to take the
time, but know that it did touch my heart. Because of my husband and all of you, my
heart is at it's peak performance.
God bless you.
Remember, JESUS LOVES YOU and so do I.
