Frame Matt Using PSP version 7 Page 3 Step 17. Now go back to Edit/Paste/As New Layer again. You now should have another copy of the dingbat on your frame matt image.
Step 18. Go to Image/Flip. Then move the dingbat to the top center of your
matt. Here's what your finished framed matt should look like, if you used the same decorations that I did.
Step 20. To be able to make your frame a "useable" picture frame in
PSP, you will need to go to Edit/Copy, then go to Edit/Paste/As New Image. Now
you have the frame matt open as a whole new image.
Before you can use this matt you'll need to change the extension ".psp" to
".pfr", so using the Paint Shop Pro Browser, open the Frames sub-folder in
Paint Shop Pro 7, right click on your frame matt image, and rename the
extension of the file you saved from psp to pfr. Now your picture is framed with your Frame Matt. Now you can add any type of frame border you want. Here's my finished picture:
When using this matt, I usually select the matt after it has been added and add a drop shadow by going to Image/Effects/Drop Shadow. The one on the completed picture was made using a darker shade of the trim color for the shadow color, or you can use black. I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial. You can use this same method to create any color or type of Frame Matt you want. [Back to the Main Tutorial Page]
