Frame Matt

Using PSP version 7

So you want to create a matt for your picture frames?  Great.  It's really not as hard as you might think, and it doesn't take that long.

Things you will need:

PSP version 7:  Download a trial version here

Image: If you want to use my image, you can download the zip file here

My Texture: Download zip here

Dingbat:  If you would like to use this dingbat, download the zip file here.  Of course you can use any dingbat or decoration you like.

You don't have to use my texture if you don't want to.  You may use any texture you like.

Preparing for the tutorial:

If you are using this image, my texture, and my dingbat, unzip all files into a folder on your hard drive, then open them in PSP.

Here is the image I will be using for this tutorial....reduced for faster download time.

Okay. Got everything you need ready?   Let's get started then.

Step 1. Begin by opening a new image using these settings:

If you're using the image, texture, and color I'm using, then you can skip "Step 2".

Step 2. Choose two colors from your image that you want your frame matt to consist of.

Step 3. Click on your "Selections Tool" using these settings:

Step 4. Starting with your cursor at coordinates of (25,25) drag your rectangle to (375,375).

Step 5. Now go to "Selections/Invert. Your image should look like this:
