Easy Left Border Background...Without the border.

Looking for some great tubes?  Click on this button

What you need:

I made this flower. It isn't much to look at, but it will do for this tutorial. You can use any image you like, but keep it about the same size as mine, which is 240x225.  Below is the image I'm using for this tutorial.

Getting Everything Ready:

Unzip the image and save it in a folder on your hard drive that you will remember. Then unzip the Texturizer Plugin into the "Plugins" folder in PSP.

Let's get started.

1. Set you foreground color to #F8D4EC, or one of your choice.  New to PSP and not sure how to do this?  Okay.

See the image below?  This is a sample of PSP work area.  On the right side of the image your will see two colors circled in black.  This is where you set your colors.  The top, light pink is your foreground color and the bottom color (dark pink) is your background color.

First we need to select our "color picker" icon.  See the little icon on the left side of the image above circled in red?  That's your color picker.  Click on it.  Now you have your color picker selected.  Now go over to the right side of your work area and click on the top color....the light pink, that is circled in black on the example above.  A new window will pop up.  This is your color chart.

Look at the example below.  See the area that I have circled in black.  Copy/paste or just type in the color number #F8D4EC and click ok.

Now your "foreground" color is the color you chose to use.

Okay, now on to the tutorial.

2. Open the image you want to use for this tutorial.

3. Open a new transparent image 1024x225....if you are using a different image, be sure to adjust the height of your transparent background to that of your image, if it's a different height than my image, but leave the width at 1024. Flood fill with color #F8D4EC or the color of your chose to use.

4. Click Effects/Plugins/Texture/Texturize and use these settings:

Now your background is texturized.

5. Open your image if you haven't already....the flower image or whichever image you are using.   You don't need to add a drop shade if you are using my flower image. One has already been added. With the image active, go to Edit/Copy.

6. Now click on your background...the one we just added the texture to. This will make your background the active.

7. Now go to Edit/paste/New Layer. Now your image (the flower) should be pasted to the background. Move the image over to left side of the background in a position you are happy with.

You're all done.   Here what your background should look like if you used my image.

Now save your new background...to save go to File/Save As and save it to any folder on your hard drive.

We're all done. See, I told you it was easy.  If you have any problems or questions, please let me know and I will help as much as I can.
