Weekly Word of Faith Title

Dove Divider

Each Monday a new "Word of Faith" will be posted, as well as a "Scripture Reading for Today".  The purpose of this is to spend a whole week mediating on this weeks "Word of Faith" and the Scripture for the week.

Why?  Because God's Word tells us that what's in our hearts is what will come out our mouth (Matthew 12:34).  He also tells us in Matthew 12:37 that it is by our words that we will be either justified or condemned.  So you see, it's what we allow into our heart that is going to come out our mouth's and what comes out our mouths will either bless or condemn us.  So it is vital that we get God's Word and God's ways down in our hearts.  When we do this, we will begin taking on the image of God on the inside and we will begin speaking words of faith and what we speak is what we really have faith in.

Covenant Prosperity

"But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant."

Deuteronomy 8:18

It seems that God is giving a lot of message on tithing, giving, and prosperity, lately.  I feel in my spirit this is because so many of God's children are hurting financially and He wants us to understand the sowing and reaping laws so that He can prosper us.

What is God's reason for prospering His people?  It is so we can watch bigger TV's?  So we can buy finer houses and more luxurious cars?

Establishing God's covenant on the earth and giving to those in need:  Those are God's purposes for prosperity!

I've had some people tell me, "Well, Jesus' ministry was poor and He got along just fine."  That's ridiculous.  All the way through the Old Testament God promised material blessings to anyone who would walk perfectly and uprightly before Him.  If God had failed to bless Jesus financially, He would have been breaking His own Word.

Jesus never built a worldly empire for Himself.  But that doesn't mean He was poor.  It means He was the greatest giver Who ever walked the face of this earth...and it's about time we started following in His footsteps.

If we'll start giving, if we'll start taking care of the needs in people's pocketbooks, we'll be far more likely to win their hearts.

What do you think will happen to the heart of a starving nation when you bring in a 747 full of food, clothes and medical supplies to them in the Name of Jesus and His love?  The hearts of those people are going to soften!  They're going to be willing to listen to what we have to say about Jesus.

Don't you ever let anyone tell you it's wrong to want to prosper.  It's wrong for you not to want to prosper when that prosperity can mean the difference between heaven and hell for millions of people.

Forget about your own little needs.  Raise your vision and set your mind on giving to meet someone else's, on establishing God's covenant in the earth.  Then stand fast in faith and get ready to enjoy the greatest prosperity you've ever know.

You see, wanting to prosper is not bad, it's wanting to prosper and covenant that prosperity for ourselves that will get us into trouble....and fast.  When God blesses us, we need to be a blessing to others in return.

How do we prosper?  By giving and by tithing.  Our tithing is giving to God what is His.  Our giving is what Hecan bless us from.  I have a saying about this.  It's one God said to me about 12 years ago and it really made a difference in my life.  What was it?  He said, "Work for your giving and give for your living."  That really hit home with me.

You see, for years I went through life thinking, "I work for my living".  I had it all wrong....turned completely around.  Now I think, "I work for my giving and I give for my living."

There are those that don't give because they are waiting for them to be blessed and have enough money left over after paying their bills ,to tithe.  This is turned around also.  We need to always tithe first, give our giving and then stand in faith that God will honor His Word and bless us.  If we are faithful, God will be faithful to fulfill His promise and He has promised to bless us from our tithing and giving.

So tithe...give to God what is His.  He only asks for 10% or what we make.  Everything is His anyway....He could have said 70%, 80%, or even 100%.  But He is not a selfish God.  He is a loving, caring Father.

So give, so that you can receive.  But don't do it selfishly.  Do it so that you can honor our Father in heaven by giving to those in need.  Show them the love of Jesus.  After all, we are the light in this world of darkness.  So let your light shine.  Receive your covenant prosperity.
